Because when you hear the camera whirring, you know the money is going through it. There’s a respectfulness that comes when you’re burning up film.

— Edgar Wright, in this LA Weekly article about studios killing 35mm film as a medium. Worth every minute of your time if you work/intend to work in the film industry.

bdgrabinski:

I’m currently in post on COST OF LIVING, a short I wrote and directed.

It’s going to be batshit and epic. It stars Brandon Routh and Bret Harrison. Everyone involved killed it.

Here are the first official photos. More to come.

(A big shout out to my great producers, Shay Weiner and John Swartz. My cinematographer, Morgan Susser. My costume designer, Autumn Steed. And my production designer, George Contorinis. I’ll get to everyone else eventually because there are way too many to thank. They all ruled.)

I haven’t read the script or seen any of the footage, but judging from the pictures, the project looks awesome. BenDavid is a cool dude. I can’t wait to see it.

Beautifully done side-by-side of the movie references in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill.
