My #pic pick today. Although you can’t see lead singer Jonah Grey very clearly, I love it because it’s so dramatic, with Jonah disappearing in the fog. One could even say it is theatrical, no?
Red Circle Underground live at the Viper Room on Sunset Blvd. Rock and Roll, photo is mine (Aaron Bendele). The rest of the photo set from the concert can be found here.
Believe it or not, I often look like this when I first wake up in the morning. Sleepy Lion, photo by Aaron Bendele (that’s me!). For the rest of this photo set, click here. How do you look when you wake up?

We started the hike with clear skies. A quarter of an hour into the hike, this weather moved in. The near barren landscape, combined with the absence of any bird sounds made for a very unsettling experience. This was but one odd experience out of many from this camping trip. It was still a blast.

After taking a look at my last post, I think maybe this crop is better. What do you think?

My dog, Brando, taking in the panorama of the Grand Canyon, May 2006. Brando became quite the well-traveled dog, going on various road trips from Chicago to Ohio, Chicago to Los Angeles (with many stops in between), and Los Angeles to Kansas. I love him and miss him. He’s “retired” to a more quiet life with a big backyard and a Jack Russell Terrier sister in Kansas.
This is a vintage oil rig on Santa Cruz Island, California (photo by Aaron Bendele). A label on the exterior says “83 Speed Star” and no amount of Googling would reveal the manufacturer or years it was made. If anyone knows let me know. I’m curious. Possibly in 1983?
Reaction face. Camping in Big Bear, California. Photo taken of me. October 2008.
Without an audience, where would we performers be? Red Circle Underground at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. Photo by Aaron Bendele.
